Tata Punch Electric: Over 80 per cent of the electric passenger car market is controlled by Tata Motors. It plans to produce 1 lakh electric vehicles in the country. Punch electric will join the automaker’s EV fleet soon.
Tata Motors showcased the Altroz electric pre-production model at the 2020 Auto Expo. It has already been spotted testing on Indian roads multiple times. We expect Tata Punch EV to debut at the 2023 Auto Expo before the Altroz EV.
There will be direct competition between the Tata Punch EV and Citroen eC3, which is scheduled for launch in 2023. There are two battery options for the electric Punch, and it could cover 300km to 350km. Tata’s Punch EV will be based on ALFA’s modular platform. With the ALFA platform, you can choose from electric, ICE or hybrid engines.
Punch EV features will likely be shared with ICE. An Android Auto & Apple CarPlay enabled 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, powered ORVMs, cruise control, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD are also expected. A leather interior, traction control, iTPMS, and multi-mode regenerative braking will also be included in this model.
Prices for the Tata Punch ICE range from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9.54 lakh. Tata Punch EV is expected to cost between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 13 lakh.
